some tags not working in MediaWiki

The situation is that some of the (Mediawiki specific?) tags are not working. For example when writing reference here and it does not display the reference, but the text I typed in. Also when I try to access "My preferences" from the wiki, I get an "Apache HTTP Server encountered a problem" error message. Otherwise in MoWeS portable status it says that Apache is running...

any ideas?

All appears to be running fine, until I try to launch mediawiki. This is the error I receive when I send my browser to: http://localhost:8080/mediawiki/ or http://127.0.0.1:8080/mediawiki
(http://localhost:8080/start/ of http://127.0.0.1:8080/start/ works well)

I have installed MoWeS successfully. Under database config I have entered a username and password and keep getting a check username and password error when I hit the install mediawiki button. any thoughts?

How do I add HTML webpages to MoWeS

When I used WAMP, I was able to add a standard HTML website folder (no PHP or MySQL) by simply dropping it in the WWW folder. With MoWeS I get a Server Error page not found when I try to load "localhost/folder name". Is there something I must do to configure the MoWeS Apache server to serve a static HTML website?

TaskFreak

Hi,

I am having trouble with the latest available packege "TaskFreak!". It installs without any problems and seems to run OK, but I am unable to add projects and task.
I tried installing a fresh version of MoWeS and TaskFreak! but still the same problem. Tried it on both Windows 2000 and Windows XP, it still does not work.

It seems to work however with an older version of MySQL.

Any ideas how to solve this?

Is it possible to download old MySQL.MoWeS packages somewhere?

phpMyAdmin got suddenly in error

I gave a password in database and it was processed good. But when I cliked other menu, it showed suddenly error message.

"Cannot start session without errors, please check errors given in your PHP and/or webserver log file and configure your PHP installation properly." with red bar on the top.

I don't know how should I handel it. Please help!

(osticket) Setting up with email hosting by gmail...

Hello...

I have the following problem, I was hoping maybe someone could provided some information why this isn't happening for some reason:

I use mowes to host the osticket system on a network with internet. Osticket can send emails by a internal php system, or by using a gmail account. Problem is setuping up the email account or internal php email, the system says that the gmail account did not respond or did not get a replay from the server. I have used every possible setting or trick I know. (including using a totally different internet connection without firewall and different account, email hosting and security. There is no respone from the mail servers at all at any point, I was wondering if mowes is blocking email traffic or something?

Is it possible to encrypt the contents of the Wiki on Stick? I intend to organize some private data (such as insurance documents, passwords etc.) with MoWeS to have it around when needed. Or can media wiki be set up in a way, that all accesses require a password?

Apache not running

Hi,

I am testing mowes portable with SE packages.

Unfortunately Apache is not running under Win XP - Skype is off. Testing cmd with httpd retruns the error message - libapr-1.dll was not found.

I couldn't find that file under apache.org - any hints what to do.

Moodle too slow in MoWeS Portable II

I have installed the MoWeS Portable II bundled with Moodle 1.9.3 in a Kingston 1 Gb. USB pendrive. Everything works fine, but Moodle performs very, very slow...is this a normal behavior? On the other hand, how about moving the whole content of the pendrive to a folder in my C:\ drive?

After download MoWeS and MoWeSX, i try to use but both cannot function...
MoWeS status is "APACHER NOT RUNNING"
MoWeSX will give some file are missing...
I try to download back, but still da same...

Joomla: Can't install new Template

Tried to install a new Jooma Template. The installer raises the error message

* JFolder::create: Could not create directory
* Warning! - Failed to move file

Found some hints on the internet concerning Unix installation (unsufficient privileges). But this can't be applied to a Windows installation.
Someone who has some idea?

I did an setup for a TYPO3 server. (Apache,IM,MYSQL5,PHP4 and TYPO3).

The installation went fine but after starting the server the browser shows only unreadble characters. I look at some files in the directory /start and find only garbadge as content. But the directory /typo3 seems to be ok and TYPO3 seems also to run fine.

MoWeS and Vista

Ive been using MoWeS on my vista home premium machine for the past week or so, and its basically made my Pc explode every time I run MoWeS.exe.
Ive been able to manipulate the httpd.conf file and this helps made the apache server load. But now a few days later.... Nothing it just makes vista crash and give me a blue screen. Ive tried everything on the forums including running it in Win XP compatability mode (for all .exe's bu now and not just httpd.exe and MoWeS.exe)

Plz I think my head is gonna explode the next time my windows does, Any help would be much appreaciated.
