Topic: Can't get MoWeS to start Apache

I've recently installed MoWeS after using WOS in the past. I'm unable to get MoWeS to start Apache. When MoWeS starts, MySQL shows as running but Apache doesn't. I've tried stopping and starting them but Apache never runs. MoWeS\apache2\logs\error.log isn't updated and I don't know where else to look or what other diagnosis to perform.

I'm running version 2.2.2 and the update function says 2.2.3 is available. However, it then directs me to http://www.mowes.chsoftware.net/updatef … MoWeS_Core which returns an empty HTML page.

Can someone advise me what I can do next please?

I think I may have a clue... If I go to http://127.0.0.1 I get a blank page, not the error page along the lines of "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at 127.0.0.1." that I'd expect. Does this suggest that some webserver might already be running? If so then how do I work out what server it is and stop it?

I went for the strategy of stopping applications at random and I found the guilty party was Skype. It seems Skype runs a web server locally for some reason but it is possible to turn off that behaviour in the options.

MoWeS now works
